Students from the Bachelor of Business (Honours) Accounting and Finance were privileged  to learn first-hand from experienced entrepreneurs on how to pitch and finance new business ventures on two consecutive Mondays.  The UC managed to invite two guest speakers, Mr Tan Yin See, the Founder and Software, Web & IOS Developer of Trilobyte Sdn. Bhd., and  Mr Au Yong Soon Kok, CEO of MyPEC Sdn. Bhd to share their extensive knowledge, rich experience and skills on how to pitch and finance new business ventures.

On 4th December 2017, Mr Tan Yin See, shared his rich experience on running an IT company. He highlighted both his accomplishment and disappointments experienced while pitching his business in the real business world.

On 11th December 2017, Mr Au Yong Soon Kok, CEO of MyPEC Sdn. Bhd., shared his knowledge on the procedures to start a new business venture with the enthusiastic students. He focused on the major responsibilities every entrepreneur has to go through to set up a company, and the pertinent issues related to obtaining funds for the new venture (particularly financing from banks)

The two seminars were certainly eye openers to our young aspiring students. Instead of just reading from books and learning from lectures, the talks provided a candid way to bridge the gap between theoretical and practical aspects on entrepreneurship.  After attending these two talks, the students had a crystal clear picture of what is happening in the real business world that ultimately gave them a clear scope in completing their Entrepreneurship coursework.
