The National Sports Day organized by the Sports and Recreation Society, TAR UC Penang Branch Campus was held from 14 to 15 October 2017 in conjunction with the Hari Sukan Negara 2017.

Funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the sport event was open to TARUC students, staff, alumni and the general public. The aims of the event were to encourage Malaysians of all walks of life to participate in competitive sports, to remain physically active, and to foster a more sports-minded culture. The event managed to draw a total of 660 participants including 19 alumni. It was indeed  delightful to see the overwhelming support shown by the public towards the sporting events organised by our TAR UC students.

Participants of the National Sports Day competed in six sports competition namely volleyball (13 teams), table tennis (6 teams), futsal (12 teams), dodgeball (13 teams), basketball (19 teams) and badminton (13 teams). TAR UC students won two games; dodgeball and badminton while members of the public displayed an amazing feat  that helped them won in sixteen games.  The Alumni from TARUC Penang Branch Campus also participated in the basketball tournament in which they won the third place.

Head of TAR UC Penang Branch Campus, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toh Guat Guan, was present to present medals to the delighted winners of the National Sports Day, 2017.
