Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Launching Ceremony

Students from 1DEM1 and 1DIN2 put knowledge gained from Civic Consciousness and Volunteerism subject into practice by raising RM 7,000 in a joint effort with St. John Ambulance, Penang and ZOLL Medical Corporation to purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the UC. AED is a portable device that can be used to restore the heart to a normal rhythm by sending an electric shock to the heart.

The AED launching ceremony was held at the Main Foyer by Branch Campus Head, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toh Guat Guan, Mr. Christopher Barnabas, Asia Pacific Operation Director of ZOLL Medical Malaysia Sdn.Bhd, Encik Azman Bin Mat Ripin, Course Leader of the CNBL department, staff members, members of the press and students on 29 March 2018.

In her launching speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toh Guat Guan pointed out the importance of this device that could save lives in the event of an emergency. She also thanked students from 1DEM1 and 1DIN2 for their far-sighted effort to make this purchase possible.
