Event Year 2018
Entrepreneur And Cash Flow Game Workshop
Date: 20 Dec 2018
Time: 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm
Venue: M001 & M002
The speaker for the day, Shirlyn Lim, is the founder of Kalyx Consultants and an accountant by profession. Ms Lim is a charismatic leader and has won several awards, with the two most recent being the Silver award for The Best Employer in the up to RM25mil revenue category at The Star Outstanding Business Awards (SOBA) 2017 and the Top Ten Finalist of JCI Creative Young Entrepreneurs.
For the first workshop session, she shared her entrepreneurial experience in running her accounting firm at a very young age. It is hoped that the session had provided some groundworks to our students to better prepare themselves as successful entrepreneurs. The second workshop session was a Cash Flow Game for the DBF and DFI students. The game is based on a board game created by Robert Kiyosaki, the author of the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad. The objective of this game was to 'get out of the rat race' and into the 'fast track'. It resembles Monopoly but is a more realistic version that guides players on managing their wealth for financial freedom.
OBJECTIVES
To boost students’ knowledge on wealth creation through a game simulation.
To cultivate a positive mindset among youths.
To provide opportunities for the students to develop leadership skill, social responsibility and entrepreneurship skill.
