AN EXPLOSIVE NIGHT OF POWERFUL PERFORMANCES

The Literature Dance and Drama Society successfully organized a fundraising dance competition in aid of the Penang Handicapped Welfare Association. They managed to obtain sponsorship from 20 companies and individuals.

The night started with a speech by TAR UC Penang Branch Head, Dr. Toh Guat Guan, who commended the students on their efforts to help those less fortunate in society. This was followed by a speech by Colleen Lean, the Assistant Advisor of the LDDS who commended the society for their efforts and encouraged the students to come up with more events in the future. This special night was emceed by Anson Keith, who is an emcee at ONE fm.

The competition started with an energetic number by The Crown, a two-person team, followed by The Unknown, an all-girl team. The Salvation Dance Crew followed up with a rousing performance and Whatever Wherever Whenever Never Ever ended the first round. The next round was a dance battle, which raised the temperatures and got the audience on their feet. Other performances, not included in the competition were mime, an acoustic rendition of Beautiful and Love Yourself as well as a cheeky magic show!

The audience cast their votes and together with three judges chose The Crown as Champion of the Competition and also obtained the Popularity Prize while Whatever Wherever Whenever Never Ever snagged the Best Performance Prize.
