TAR UC Penang Branch was one of the nine universities/colleges invited to Penang Talent Outreach with the theme “Global Business Services (GBS) as a Career of Choice”. The event was part of InvestPenang’s continuous efforts to spur the local GBS ecosystem and maintain the State’s position as a choice destination for GBS investment.

38 Bachelor of Business (Honours) Accounting & Finance final year students attended the event and experienced informative sharing sessions with senior executives of prominent GBS players in Penang such as:

• Lexi Solutions

• Luxoft Malaysia

• Osram GSS

• Swarovski GBS

• Teleperformance Malaysia

• UST Global

• MDEC

18 GBS companies including Air Asia GBS, Celestica GBS, Citigroup TSM, Cypress Semiconductor, Emerald Global Group, Intel Corporation, Kerry Logistics, Lexi Solutions, Luxoft Malaysia, Osram GSS, Swarovski GBS, Teleperformance Malaysia, Tessolve Semiconductor, Thunder Software Technology, Toll Global Forwarding, Toray TMS, UST Global and Wilmar GBS had career booths at the event.

The event was an eye opener for our students on how fierce the competition is in the corporate world for a career in a GBS company as they witnessed for themselves the outspoken and confident undergraduate competitors from other universities.
