Volunteering for the Penang International Science Fair 2018

Date: 10 & 11 November 2018

Venue: SPICE, Penang

The Penang International Science Fair (PISF) was jointly organised by the Penang State Government and the industries that form the backbone of the Penang Science Cluster. This year’s theme was “Empowering the Next Generation”. This event helped to promote and sparked interest in STEM in primary and secondary students. There were 20,000 workshop slots from over 50 types for students to experience and have fun learning.

45 students from the TAR UC Penang Branch’s Electronics Engineering Society, led by the advisor, Ts. Khoo Boo Wooi, volunteered at the PISF. TAR UC students were involved at the makerfest soldering stations and woodworking stations.

By volunteering, TAR UC students learnt more about the active citizen framework, and were able to contribute their knowledge to society.
