Young Innovators Challenge (YIC) 2018 University Level

Maker Fair and Competition (TAR UC)

TAR UC Penang Branch organised the Young Innovators Challenge (YIC) 2018 Penang State Level Maker Fair and Competition. A total of 29 teams from 10 secondary schools participated in the Maker Fair. Engineers, managers and consultants from the industries were invited as judges to the competition. To support the event, several industries also sent their representative to witness the event.

The participants from the various secondary schools were mentored by the students of TAR UC Penang Branch Electronics Engineering Society. 22 student-mentors were involved during the event period.

The event was a success, with most participants producing creative and innovative projects that were suitable for applications in aspects such as Internet of Things, Automation & Health Care. This event successfully exposed secondary school participants to knowledge that is relevant for future tertiary studies.
