In order to help ease the alarming shortage of blood supply in the local blood bank, 57 members of the First Aid Unit (FAU) organized the 42nd Blood Donation Campaign (BDC) together with Hospital Seberang Jaya.

The opening ceremony was attended by Assoc Prof Dr Toh Guat Guan, Branch Campus Head of Penang Branch Campus, medical officers from Hospital Seberang Jaya, Organizing President of BDC, Ms. Chew Rong Ying, Organizing Vice President of BDC, Mr. Derrick Ng Lip Wei, FAU members and student helpers. The opening ceremony of the 42nd BDC started at 11 a.m. on 6 August 2019.

From a total of 484 volunteer donors, 401 of them were accepted, while 83 were rejected due to various reasons.
