A total of 19 students from TAR UC Penang Branch’s Electronics Society together with the society’s advisor, Ts. Khoo Boo Wooi, visited ASE Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Penang, on 17 April 2019. Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) is the world’s largest provider of independent semiconductor manufacturing services in assembly and test.

The students were briefed regarding the latest semi-con technology and clean room protocol. The ASE’s engineering team gave a detailed line tour of the Front of Line (FOL), SMT and End of Line (EOL).

The students benefitted from the trip as they had the opportunity to learn about the industry machines, environment and procedures.
