On 27 June 2019, the Accounting and Finance Society invited speakers from Grant Thornton to give a career talk. The principal, Mr. Loo Wei Teng, together with five TAR UC alumni currently working at Grant Thornton, visited the campus. 

Mr. Loo started with an introduction of Grant Thornton’s presence in the international and Malaysian market, as well as the various functions of Grant Thornton KL and Penang. Mr. Loo shared his personal experiences with the students on audit implications pertaining to the changes in accounting standards and tax rules. His sharing opened the eyes of the students who have no working experience in the field and gave the students a great opportunity to relate what they have studied to the real working environment.

The sharing session continued with the alumni expressing their gratitude for the opportunities they have received throughout their working years. They shared on how the firm celebrates different festive seasons and the importance of computer skills at the workplace. Students participated in games during the interactive session which was enjoyable.
