At dawn on a beautiful Sunday morning, 1,215 runners were flagged off by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toh Guat Guan, TAR UC Penang Branch Campus Head, for the 7 km TARCian Run 2019. 

TARCian Run 2019 was the third TARCian Run organised by TAR UC Penang Branch in collaboration with the TARCian Alumni Association. The annual event was held concurrently with all TAR UC campuses - TAR UC Main Campus, Perak Branch, Johor Branch, Pahang Branch, and Sabah Branch with the theme, ‘Run for Unity’. The maiden run was held in 2017. TARCian Run was an initiative by TAR UC to encourage TAR UC students to have a healthy lifestyle and to build good rapport among students, graduates, alumni, staff and the public.

When the runners reached the finishing line, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toh Guat Guan, TAR UC Penang Branch Campus Head, Dr. Lee Pey Huey, TAR UC Penang Branch Deputy Campus Head and several staff members were there to award them with medals and lots of goodies. There were marvelous performances and the most exciting part of all was the lucky draw session. People were cheering, clapping and shouting their numbers, hoping to win the prizes. The lucky winners walked home with sports equipment for a healthier lifestyle.
