Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee of Marketing and Management (M&M) Society held an online talk using Google Meet on 8 August 2020 from 2 pm to 4 pm.  The title of the talk was “How to make the best of your qualifications to get a fulfilling and satisfying career”.

The speaker of this talk was Dr Jimmy Foo Kok Keong. He is a successful entrepreneur, investor and certified corporate trainer. He owns many corporate companies such as Tourpro Capital Holding Berhad, Newwave Management Sdn Bhd, Mencity Galleries Sdn Bhd and so on. He has won many awards and recognitions too, such as Successful People in Malaysia, Top Trainer Award 2019, Faces of Penang 2019 – Top 50 Below 50 and so on.

The talk started at 2.15 pm with a brief introduction of Dr Jimmy. After that, it was Dr. Jimmy’s turn to share his experience with the participants. The main topics covered by him were:

• The current market situation after the COVID-19 pandemic

• Skills that fresh graduates need to have for their future career

• Types of employees that a boss is looking for

Dr Jimmy was an interesting speaker. All the participants were attracted to the content he shared and responded actively. During his sharing session, many participants left their questions in the chat box and Dr. Jimmy answered them patiently.

After the talk, the participants gave a lot of good and positive feedback in Google Forms. They hoped that the committee could hold this kind of talks in future and also extend the talk to a longer duration.
