During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) Penang Branch Campus organized a skill enhancement module entitled “FinTech”, consisting of several talks in collaboration with Gkash, iPay88 and MPFC Penang Chapter. The three talks were conducted on 6th, 11th and 18th November 2021 via Google Meet.

The first talk, titled “Investment and Crytocurrency”, was given by Dr Tan Chuan Hong, the MPFC Penang Chapter Chairman, Mr Mustafa Aydemir, the Senior Investment Analyst from Saturna Sdn Bhd, and Mr Edgar “Jobe” Gasper, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of SINEGY Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd. This talk imparted knowledge on how to become a wise investor in cryptocurrency investment.

The second talk, titled “Risk & Compliance: The Untold Story from a Payment Gateway Perspective”, was given by Mr Por Yew Guan, who is the Lead Business Strategist at Gkash Group of Companies. This talk provided an understanding about the regulatory requirements and the associated risks in merchant acquiring services by a digital payment gateway service provider.

The third talk, titled “E-commerce Payment Gateway”, was given by Mr Chan Kok Long, who is the co-founder and Executive Director of iPay88. This talk gave an understanding regarding the detailed e-commerce payment gateway to help those engaging in e-commerce to map out a potential plan that encompassed key elements of digital transformation to increase their overall business competitiveness.

The three talks were successfully conducted and the “FinTech” module ended on 18th November 2021.
