The Emergence of Contact Tracing Apps during Covid-19 Pandemic

In order to let students know more about contact tracing app, Computer Science Society (CSS) invited Mr Praburaajan Selvarajan, CEO of Madison Technologies Malaysia Plt, to give a talk on “The Emergence of Contact Tracing Apps during Covid-19 Pandemic”. Around 200 students enthusiastically registered for this talk, while the invitation was also extended to all FOCS lecturers.

At 4:30 p.m., registered students joined the talk which was held on Google Meet. At 5.00 p.m. sharp, the moderator introduced the speaker and the talk began. The speaker explained what contact tracing is, how their team developed contact tracing applications, and how the apps protect user privacy. At about 5.40 p.m., the speaker concluded his talk, and it was time for the Q&A session. The participants were very enthusiastic in posting their questions to the speaker.

After the Q&A session, Ts. Nikalus, FOCS Programme Leader, awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr Praburaajan Selvarajan, thanking him for sharing an educational and informative topic with TARUC Penang Branch Campus students. The event ended with a group photo session with the speaker.
