MIRACAREER Campaign

TAR UC Students Promote Career and Occupational Awareness

Date: 30 March to 1 April 2022

Time: 9 to 5 pm

Venue: TAR UC, Penang Branch Campus

Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI), Bachelor in Public Relations (Hons) year two students had organised an awareness and educational campaign known as MIRACAREER, on March 30 to April 1, 2022, to help students in making connection between their studies, interests and career pathways. The campaign serves as a platform for college and university students to determine their talents and to raise awareness on the importance of soft skills in the working environment.

The preparation for the campaign started more than two months ago. Game linkages designed for the Horror Escape Rooms, which was the main activity of the MiraCareer Campaign, provided a great way to build leadership skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Along with the campaign, other activities include career booths and talks provided opportunities for students to network with potential employers and to understand themselves better in order to search for a career in their desired industry.

Companies that joined the career booths were from a wide variety of industries like accounting, event management, wealth management, computing and information technology. By participating in a sharing session with company representatives in career booths, students were able to determine which field they are most suited for.

TAR UC Penang Branch Campus Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI) Associate Dean, Dr Syamsul Zahri said that the campaign provides benefits to students in exploring their potential and understanding the work norms of the industry through various levels of game in Horror Escape Room, sharing sessions, and talks by external trainers and the company representatives.

“We urge our students to enhance their soft skills and personal value in order to know themselves better and to obtain a brighter future by looking for a career that suits them,” he said.
