The Peer Support Society recently hosted the 'Destressing' Week event with the theme 'The Lighthouse.' The primary objective of this event was to enlighten students on effective ways to cope with daily challenges and manage their emotions with a positive attitude.

The event featured a variety of activities, including a Wishing Tree, a Spinning Wheel, a Stress Test, a Stress Management Talk, a Bear Promotion, a Trivia Interview, and a captivating performance.

One notable activity, the 'Inside Out' exercise, involved participants choosing a color to symbolize their emotions. Colored papers were collected at the conclusion of events such as the Fun Fair, Sponge Splash, Slime Workshop, Stress Management Talk, Film Sharing, and Sandboard Game. The colors selected at the end of these activities indicated that participants were happier and calmer after engaging in the various events.

The Stress Management Talk, led by TAR UMT Penang Branch Student Counselor Ms. Perng Soo Chen, focused on 'What is Stress' and 'Ways of Destressing.' To enhance relaxation, Ms. Lim Lay Sim, TAR UMT Penang Branch Senior Activities & Sports Coordinator, conducted a meditation session.

Ms. Perng and the participants engaged in the Sandboard Game, where students learned valuable skills related to time management, building connections, utilizing their abilities, and managing their energy to plan for the future.

During the Film Sharing Event, participants chose to watch 'The Bad Guys,' and everyone enjoyed snacks and drinks throughout the screening. The event successfully provided students with a range of activities and insights to help them navigate the challenges of student life while promoting positive mental well-being.
